Smartwin hardware i-level Media Group hosted press conference with Smartwin, announced the partnership with Shanghai Jin Jiang Taxi Group      April 26 2005
i-level Media Group celebrated the commencement of its cooperation with Jin Jiang Transport for the launch of the I-level Mobile Media Network in Shanghai, China.
i-level Media Group and Jin Jiang Transport have signed a cooperation agreement which grants the Company the exclusive rights to operate liquid crystal display (LCD) based advertising display units (ADUs) in the more than 4500 Jin Jiang taxis operating in Shanghai starting from May 1st, 2005. This marks i-level Media Group’s first direct involvement in the Chinese media market and its first direct investment in a proprietary digital media network.
The Company’s ADUs will be installed in Jin Jiang taxis in stages over the next 2 years. With 500 Jin Jiang taxis in operation in the second quarter of 2005, the I-level Mobile Media Network will reach more than 30 000 affluent consumers and business professionals across the city every day. By the end of 2006, the I-level Mobile Media Network will deliver over 260 000 unique viewer impressions per day.

But according to Aidan Sullivan, Managing Director of i-level Media Group, it is not about the quantity of impressions so much as the quality of the impressions made through the media. “What we are seeing on a global scale is a move from quantity to quality as the measure of success for effective media. Advertisers are now seeking new and innovative ways to reach specific market segments and leave a lasting impression.” The I-level Mobile Media Network promises to provide just such a channel to reach Shanghai’s emerging middle class.

Taxis offer a perfect channel to reach this highly coveted demographic. Mr. Sullivan continued, saying “Jin Jiang Transport has always been known for its commitment to high levels of service. It has distinguished itself as a premier taxi operator in Shanghai having exclusivity over a large number of high-end hotels and office towers. This assures a consistent, continuous, high quality demographic for the advertisers on the i-level Mobile Media Network and made Jin Jiang the natural choice for our launch into the Chinese market.”

“We are delighted to be working with i-level Media Group and their partners. They posses a wealth of industry experience and a unique understanding of building, managing and maintaining digital media networks” added Jin Jiang Transport’s vice general manager Mr. Guofu Yu.

Company research has shown that the average Shanghai taxi riders are young, educated, established and affluent. These characteristics paired with prolonged exposure in the intimate environment of the back seat in a taxi make the I-level Mobile Media Network an ideal choice for clients seeking a targeted approach to reaching and impacting Shanghai’s emerging middle class.

The Company provides a flexible range of packages which enables clients to choose multiple formats from simple and cost effective JPEG based picture spots, to flash animation, to full motion DVD quality video, all with stereo sound. Clients can then choose spot durations from 5 to 60 seconds and campaigns ranging from 1 week to 13 weeks. “What we are offering clients is versatility and control. With such a wide range of formats and spot durations, everyone can afford to advertise on the network from small business operators through to global brand owners” added Mars Zhang, I-level’s Shanghai Sales Director. “Unlike with traditional media buys,", he explained, "clients that buy space on the I-level Mobile Media Network are able to change the content running on the Network throughout the campaign in response to changes in their individual needs." The Company promises lead times of 5 business days and 95% up-time.

Mr. Sullivan further commented on the significance of the launch, saying “It is an exciting time for outdoor media in China.
